Individual Sports

At Camp Wildwood, there are two things you can always count on: Tennis and Swimming! We consider these life sports that are essential to the development of every young man at camp. Wildwood has eight outdoor clay tennis courts and three all weather courts where our certified head tennis professional keeps an eye on what skills the kids need improvement in. Our daily lessons are divided between instruction, mini games and match play. Every summer, each group plays out a singes and doubles tournament to crown camp champions! The Wildwood Tennis Invitational welcomes boys from neighboring camp to compete in singles and doubles competition over three different age groups. There are also tournaments and inter-camp matches designed for the novice players who have never before played in a tennis tournament. Private lessons are available before lunch and before dinner and we have four lighted courts so that the older boys can get in some extra playing time in the evening. Following dinner, we hold a Tennis Plus program for those campers who desire a little more specialized instruction.

While we do enjoy tennis at Camp Wildwood, there are also a number of other individual sports available to our campers. On the waterfront, we have water skiing, wakeboarding, sailing, canoeing and tubing. Our four hole golf course is unique to camps in Maine and our 50' climbing wall is always ready to be conquered! We also have a BMX track, archery range and fitness center.
