Health Certificate:
Available on the link below, the certificate is to be filled out
by YOU and YOUR DOCTOR and mailed to the Camp
Wildwood winter office by June 1st. To provide the best
care for your son while at camp, please take the time to carefully
fill out the health form before it is sent to your pediatrician.
Many questions on our health form are geared for you to answer.
We have also added a new "insurance page" to the health
form. Make sure to complete it and attach a copy, front and back,
of your insurance card. Beginning this summer the physicians that
examine and treat your son, while at camp, will bill your insurance
carrier directly. Please make it a point to call your pediatrician
today and hopefully avoid a last minute scamble before the start
of camp. Any camper whose Health Certificate is not received
will not be permitted to travel to camp. In order to fully care
for your son, please be sure to accurately answer all questions
asked on the certificate. The physician is only obligated to answer
the medical questions, it is your obligation to fill out the upper
portion of the form, as well as SIGN THE PARENTAL RELEASE LOCATED
ON THE BOTTOM OF THE FRONT PAGE before returning it to the Wildwood
office.

Medications Dispensed at Camp:
It is extremely important that ALL MEDICATIONS, VITAMINS,
TOPICAL SOLUTIONS, ETC. that will be dispensed by our nurses,
are forwarded to camp by June 25th.
In the past, our nurses were inundated with over 75 bags of prescribed
medications as our campers arrived. They had to sort and document
all those meds for possible dispensing at dinnertime, two hours
later. This had to be accomplished at the same time the campers
were to receive a lice, ear, nose and throat exam. It took our nursing
staff quite a while to organize and document the late arriving medications,
therefore Mark, Peter and our staff will not accept any
medications at the bus.
Phone Call Policy:
Based on the success of last summer's phone call policy, we will
once again implement it this summer. Parents will be permitted to
call and speak with their children twice in the first half of the
summer and once in the second half. We will ask you to call the
camp in June to reserve dates and times of your calls. More specific
information will be available in Bulletin #3 coming in March.
Camper Uniform & Clothing List:
The Cloz Company will once again be our exclusive camp outfitter.
You can view their new catalogue by clicking
here and in January you will be sent a beautiful new catalogue
with a detailed list of all the necessary clothing and equipment
for the upcoming summer.
Travel to Camp:
All Tri-State area children are meeting at the Mamaroneck High School
parking lot on Sunday, June 29th. All buses are scheduled to leave
promptly at 9:00 AM. The exact directions for getting to the high
school will be sent to you via Bulletin #3, which will be available
on-line in March. For the kids living outside the Tri-State area,
you will be contacted in May to discuss your travel arrangements.
When making airplane reservations, please have your children arrive
at the Portland Jetport, between 11 AM and 4 PM on June 29th. Our
staff will be there to greet them.
Parents' Visiting Days:
All parents are invited to spend either July 25th or 26th with your
son(s) at camp. Parents with siblings at camp are welcome to join
us for both visiting days. If you haven't done so already, it is
advisable that you secure your travel plans and hotel reservations
quickly, because many camps in our neighborhood have the identical
visiting weekend. Rooms, cars, and flights become scarce. A
list of accommodations can be found in Bulletin
# 1. Grandparents and siblings are welcome to spend
the day at camp as well. If this weekend is inconvenient, please
call us to arrange an alternative date.
Updating Information:
Please inform us of any changes you may have incurred since you
filled out the camp application. These changes may include e-mail
address, phone numbers (home, work, summer, or cell) or home address.
You can call or e-mail
us of any changes.
Baggage Information:
CAMP BAGGAGE will pickup and deliver all baggage from campers living
on the Eastern Seaboard. Towards the end of February they will send
you a packet containing an enrollment form, an information sheet,
a FAQ sheet and return envelope. This should facilitate the arrangement
for pickup and delivery of your son’s baggage. James Donaldson
is the operations director and he can be reached at (561) 748-5185
or you can visit their website: www.campbaggage.com
for more information. Please don't call the camp office regarding
general baggage information, just call or email CAMP BAGGAGE directly.
If you plan on shipping via UPS, FedEx, or Air Borne you
must also plan on a return pickup from camp on August 15th. Please
organize your payment as well; Wildwood will not pay for a baggage
pick up!
To secure your baggage when shipping via UPS, Fed Ex, or Air Borne
you can use plastic ties.
Securing Baggage:
The problem of opening the campers’ baggage once it arrives
at Wildwood has always been a problem, one that we need your help
to overcome. Past experience with lost keys and incorrect combination
locks, compels us to ask that you use plastic ties.
By using these ties to secure the baggage, it will be easier to
unpack the camper’s belongings. This is extremely
important for all boys because their counselors unpack the baggage,
make the beds, and put their clothes on the shelves prior to their
arrival. We do this so the boys’ first activity at Wildwood
will be a baseball or soccer game, not unpacking. Since
many of these boys will be experiencing camp for the first time,
we feel this is an excellent way of eliminating some initial homesickness
that might have otherwise set in. This system has been successfully
working for the last twenty-five years. Thanks !!

to join in the excitement, good fellowship, and just plain fun!
