At the 8 outdoor and 2 indoor tennis courts, our certified head
professional keeps an eye on what skills the kids need improvement
in. Since tennis, like swimming, is a mandatory part of the Wildwood
program, there are never more than 5 children per court, with daily
lessons divided between instruction and court games.
For the campers who play often and take yearly lessons, Wildwood
enters at least 5 tournaments, including our own 10, 12 and 14 and
under tournament. There are also tournaments and inter-camp matches
designed for the novice players. There are private lessons available
before lunch and before dinner. We have four lighted courts so the
13, 14 and 15 year olds can get in some extra playing time in the
evening. Following dinner we hold a Tennis Plus Program for those
campers who require a little more specialized tennis instruction.
Other individual sports include: archery, the ropes
challenge course with a 6 sided 50' climbing wall, golf and bicycle
moto-cross (BMX), sailing, water skiiing, canoeing, wrestling, fishing
and track and field.
