Meals & Cabins

Shared by boys and staff alike, mealtimes are another time for everyone to join, eat, and talk together. Below is an example of three days of meals served last summer.

The natural beauty of the Maine forest is captured by the towering pines scattered throughout the grounds. This actual row of pines leads the campers from the lodge down to the junior camp “grove” where campers aged 7-12 sleep in cabins on Woods Pond.

The campers live in two designated areas, both on the shores of Woods Pond. In junior camp, campers are from ages 7-12, while in senior camp the boys are 13-15. All of Wildwood’s cabins overlook Woods Pond.

Six or seven campers and two counselors occupy each cabin, which is equipped with a sink, toilet, and electricity. Showers are located in a separate building, just steps away from the cabins. In the cabins, each platform bed is homemade and comfortable. During the summer boys begin to build long-lasting friendships as they learn about sharing, cooperation, and companionship.

All camper bathrooms and shower houses are cleaned and maintained by our professional maintenance staff. But, the boys do have to clean-up their cabins and are inspected on a daily basis. Pizza parties are awarded to the cleanest bunk each week.
