Louis and Chelsey Kail

Summer camp has been in the Kail family for the past 20 years. Louis started at Camp Wildwood in 1995 as a camper and has been there ever since. Chelsey was also a camper herself before coming to work at Camp Wildwood years ago. Together they have a great passion for camp, childhood development, and education. They each possess degrees in Physical Education, Health Education and Childhood Development. As Directors, Louis and Chelsey bring a genuine warmth and create a nurturing environment for the boys at Camp Wildwood. Joining Louis and Chelsey at camp are their boys Austin, Brody and Hunter, who are truly living the Camp Wildwood dream. Louis and Chelsey look forward to continuing to help Camp Wildwood boys build the best memories, have fun, and create friendships that will last a lifetime.

Louis also played basketball at Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York. After graduating, Louis returned to coach the men’s basketball team as a graduate assistant.

Teddy Friedman and Zoe Markowitz

Teddy started at Camp Wildwood as a ten year old Hemlock and spent the next fourteen summers up in Maine as a camper, counselor and group leader. He returned to Camp Wildwood as a Camp Director after spending six years as the Director of Operations at the Dribbl Basketball program in New York City. During the school year, Teddy continues to work with Dribbl and teaches physical education to boys at the Saint David’s School. Zoe spent her childhood as a camper at the Nature Place Day Camp and spent many summers as a counselor at the Nickel-O-Farms riding program. Their daughter Sadie joined the Wildwood Family in 2021 and just finished her first summer in Maine. Together, their favorite things to do at camp are canoeing and watching the sun set over Woods Pond.

Eric has been a part of the Camp Wildwood family since 1996, having worked six summers while in college/grad school as Director of Basketball, Group Leader, and finally as Athletic Director. Eric stayed in contact with Camp Wildwood during a successful 19+ year career in Corporate America, then re-joined the Camp Wildwood leadership team in 2020 as Director of Basketball and Senior Camp Head Counselor. Eric looks forward to many more Camp Wildwood summers to come and helping continue the Wildwood Way!

Justin Stephens

Justin is a native of Newnan GA, a suburb thirty minutes south of Atlanta, so it is no surprise that he brings a bit of Southern Hospitality to Camp Wildwood. He has been a part of the Wildwood Family since 2009 and has made Bridgton his second home. Justin has spent the past thirteen summers as a Group Leader and assumed the role of Athletic Director in 2022. During the school year, he teaches high school social studies and coaches the Varsity Girls basketball team at The Heritage School in Newnan. His passion is mentoring the next generation, through athletic and non-athletic avenues.

Thomas “TO” Ovenshine

T.O. arrived at Camp Wildwood in the Summer of 2014 on a whim after responding to a Craigslist ad about coaching basketball. He quickly fell in love with the culture and sense of community that camp can provide young minds. Since then, he has successfully maneuvered around the natural obstacles of life to align with his passion for spending summers on Woods Pond. This included a move from Portland, OR to New York City in 2016. During the school year, T.O. works in Manhattan as a Program Manager for the New York Bulldogs youth sports organization. T.O. was never a camper at Wildwood, but spent seven summers as a Group Leader before being named Program Director in 2022. Being one of the few members of the Camp Wildwood leadership team hailing from the west coast, T.O. provides a calm, laid back presence to the wild and crazy summers that boys have at camp.
